Air Force Douglas C-54 Skymaster.
Gail Halvorsen was an Air Force 1st lieutenant and began the practice of dropping candy with handkerchief parachutes to the German children watching the landings at Tempelhof.
Mercedes Wild was 7 years old when she asked Gail Halvorson to drop chocolate over her garden near the airport.
